10 años mostrando las tradiciones folclóricas dominicanas a miles de turistas internacionales  Punta Cana, La Altagracia.- El Carnaval de Punta Cana será celebrado este próximo 4 de marzo a lo largo del Boulevard Primero de Noviembre a partir de las 3 de la tarde, con un impresionante despliegue multicolor de caretas y disfraces durante una fiesta popular que conjugará la diversión y alegría del folclor nacional y caribeño. En carnaval es abierto al público en general. Participarán comparsas internacionales así como la selección de las mejores y más representativas comparsas locales. La sorpresa de cada año es descubrir que personalidad será el Rey Momo, un gran atractivo de este carnaval por ser figuras muy importantes y reconocidas a nivel local e internacional. Este papel ha sido representado por personas como el diseñador Oscar de La Renta, Marcos Díaz, Michael Camilo, Juan Marichal, entre otros.

In the 15th year of the awards, TripAdvisor has highlighted the world’s top properties based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from travelers around the globe. Winners were identified in the categories of Top Hotels, Luxury, Bargain, Small, Service, B&Bs and Inns, Romance and Family. The hallmarks of Travelers’ Choice hotels winners are remarkable service, value and quality.
In the last several decades, the Caribbean has experienced widespread coral reef degradation. However, the work of Fundación Grupo Puntacana and its partners has helped create a “Hope Spot” in the eastern Dominican Republic. In 2016, for example, biologists documented sexual spawning of staghorn corals off the coast of Punta Cana for the first time ever. These corals had been transplanted as part of the Partnership for Ecologically Sustainable Coastal Areas (PESCA), a comprehensive program for the protection and restoration of the region’s coastal areas, which includes the Foundations’ coral restoration program that has spanned over a decade.
