It has been a few weeks since we last discussed the great outdoors and the many wonderful things you can do in Punta Cana, but I just so happen to have news of a 45th anniversary celebratory event for all of the adrenaline junkies out there. You’re probably wondering what I’m talking about, but it’s probably better to have professional kiteboarders Susi Mai and Aaron Hadlow do it for me:

Every year since 1996 the Puntacana Foundation has organized a gala and concert in the town of Higüey featuring music performed by the National Symphony Orchestra and Choir.
A couple of months ago, a great post went up on our blog discussing the name of our beautiful region of the Dominican Republic. As you have no doubt noticed from the name change from Punta Borrachón to Punta Cana, the palm leaf has a long and storied history both in our region and in the history of our resort, and it is that history that I am here to discuss today.
JULIO IGLESIAS TO PERFORM BENEFIT CONCERT IN MEMORY OF OSCAR DE LA RENTA, "Homenaje a un Amigo"11/6/2014 Thursday, April 24, 2014 marked a special day in the history of the relationship between Julio Iglesias and Oscar de la Renta. De la Renta was in New York to accept the prestigious Medal of Excellence award for business leadership and philanthropy, and Iglesias was there to honor his friend with an intimate concert at Carnegie Hall.
We're proud of our country, it is picturesque, colorful, and exciting. In past blog posts we've mentioned the savory flavorful food (and where it comes from), talked about the stunning blue water and now we'd like to discuss the sounds of this lovely half island, specifically the sound of music. |
