330 Million Reasons WHY NERVES COME INTO PLAY in the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship.
PUNTA CANA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: The Web.com Tour, the PGA TOUR’s developmental circuit, is the dominate pathway for players to earn their Tour card. At year end, the top 25 players on the Web.com Tour money list are given PGA TOUR credentials for the next season. The pressure is intense and competition is fierce for the right to compete for over $330 million in annual PGA TOUR prize money. New in 2016 to the Web.com Tournament schedule is the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, May 30 – June 5.
“We are thrilled to be making our first visit to the Caribbean and to have Puntacana Resort & Club as our title sponsor,” said Dave Brown, chairman/CEO of the Web.com Tour. “It is a big part of our Tour’s expansion plans.”
Puntacana Resort & Club is known as the island golf destination. In addition to 45 holes of Tom Fazio and P.B. Dye golf, guests have access to Tortuga Bay (the only AAA Five Diamond awarded hotel in The Dominican Republic), The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club, and a three-mile powdery sand beach. “CORALES IS A BOLD DESIGN. It is one of the few great courses in the world with a series of holes that play directly on the ocean. The stamina and nerves of some of the best players in the world will be tested during the championship on Devil’s Elbow, the finishing three holes playing over the cliff-lined Bay of Corales.” – TOM FAZIO
